Read the first Deadwood book in April. Told husband, Guess where we are going on vacation? Yep, Deadwood! Never been to South Dakota before and we loved it. Hill City, Keystone, Deadwood, Lead, did all the touristy stuff, but too bad I din’t see your website first. You were around there about the same time! Sorry I missed you! So much to see. Saw the Lead mine and saw 1 house on the top of the hill overlooking the mine..wanted to know if that was the one in your book. Want to go back! Love the area and your books!

      Hi Janice,
I’m glad you visited the Black Hills and enjoyed seeing the sights. I made up the Carhart house, but I did go visit that house overlooking the mine before making up the Carhart house. Thank you for reading my books and taking the time to write to me. Maybe we’ll run into each other again sometime in Deadwood.
      Hugs,
      Ann

I have read all the “Deadwood” series and can not wait for another book to see what happens next. Any idea when we can expect number 5? Love the story line.

    • AnnC says:

      Hi Helen,
The 5th Deadwood book (An Ex to Grind in Deadwood) will be out in early September of this year.
Thanks for reading about Vi and crew and I’m glad you’re enjoying them!
      Take care,
      Ann

Ann ~~ Will your shorts be published in print at any point?
    Thanks
    Cyndie

    • AnnC says:

      Hi Cyndie,
I actually have the two shorts together in a printed book on Amazon (and I believe B&N, too). Amazon worked with me to put the two shorts into print. :)

      Thanks,
      Ann

Yay! I did it! I booked myself a vacation out that way. :D Been wanting to for awhile now, and you being there signing books was the kick in the booty I needed! (Although I own them all on Kindle, so not sure what I’ll have you sign! lol) I am planning on participating in the Treasure Hunt too. I hope we don’t need to know the area real well, since this will be my first time to Deadwood, but I’m up for the challenge! =)
Got any recommendations for good (cheap) restaurants? Maybe something ‘off the beaten path’? I always like to find those places that only the locals know about! ;-)

    • AnnC says:

Yay, Marsha Jo! I’m glad you’re going to come and join me in Deadwood. It’s such a fun town. There are several good restaurants in Deadwood and most are reasonably priced. There are also some good restaurants in Lead and on the outskirts of Lead heading toward Montana (one of them out there has frybread–one of my favorite treats)! If you are on Facebook, check out Ann Charles’ Purple Door Saloon group. Several of the fans there are going to Deadwood in July and are talking about restaurants and more. I look forward to meeting you and thank you for coming to hang out there when I am.
      Hugs,
      Ann
