Happy May!
Wow! 2020 has to be one of the oddest spring seasons in a long, long time. There have been so many changes from our everyday lives, and a lot of “family time” for most of us. I’m starting to feel like a cave-dwelling pack of humans in the thick of an arctic winter.
My kids are finished with school this week, so now we’re really going to lose track of what day of the week it is. By the end of summer, I’ll probably only speak in grunts and growls while our cats run the day-to-day show here.
Anyway, I hope you are staying healthy and keeping busy, as well as finding books, movies, series, outside work, and more to keep your mental and emotional spirits uplifted during these crazy times.

Deadwood 2020 Fan Weekend News
**Dates: June 25th-28th, 2020 (Thursday through Sunday)**
**Location: Deadwood (and Lead), South Dakota**
Well, due to Covid-19, we’ve had to scale back on our 2020 Deadwood Fan Party weekend, but we’re still going to have fun (BUT BE SAFE, TOO). Here’s a taste of a few events in the works for those of you who still plan on coming to Deadwood at the end of June:
* Book signing at Chubby Chipmunk Hand-Dipped Chocolates (free chocolate boot if you buy a book). We’ll be setting up outside so we can maintain social distancing and I’ll wear a mask.
* Book signing/Wine tasting at Miners & Merchants Trading Post (in Lead). We’ll be setting up outside so we can maintain social distancing and I’ll wear a mask.
* Multiple Paranormal Investigation in the dark at the Adams House with Black Hills Paranormal Investigations and Ann. (This event is currently sold-out.)
* A few outdoor/patio gatherings at local restaurants–I’m working on finding locations where we can safely sit outside with “social distancing” in place.
**Hotel Discount at the Holiday Inn Express in Deadwood**
Even though no events will be held at the [Holiday Inn Express in Deadwood] this year, the hotel was still kind enough to give us a block of rooms at a discount during that weekend. If you’d like to book a room there for the long fan weekend, give them a call and tell them that you are part of the Ann Charles Fan Weekend and they will give you the discount. Since late March, I’ve been doing Facebook Live “shows” for an hour or so once a week, talking with readers and answering questions about my books. Sam Lucky and I are working on Deadwood Undertaker Book 3, CAN’T RIDE AROUND IT. Our goal is to have this third book in the series out by September. Stay tuned for more fun with Clementine, Rabbit, Boone, Hank, and the rest of the Undertaker crew.

Deadwood Mystery Book 12 will be next up on my to-do list after Sam and I have Deadwood Undertaker #3 available for your reading pleasure.

Deadwood Short #5, FATAL TRADITIONS, is now in-process. My fingers are crossed it will be available sometime this summer.
