News from Ann’s Brain
It’s already March. Wow. I think I blacked out through most of January, because I don’t remember that month at all. In February, our kids turned 15 and 17. Watch out world! The teenagers have fully arrived on scene and are busy rolling their eyes at us when we do silly things to entertain them.
Since I wrote to you last, I’ve participated in a couple of interviews that included interesting questions I hadn’t had before (in my 10+ years of doing interviews). One interview was from a podcaster in Greece, which had me daydreaming about gyros and tzatziki while I was chatting. Yes, I do think of food twenty-hours a day, breaking from that thought only while in deep sleep … I think. Although I do wake up chewing on my pillow some mornings.

Otherwise, Sam Lucky and I have been busy writing, racing to see who will finish with our books first. We’ll see where we are word-count wise by the end of the month and decide which book releases first this summer–Deadwood Undertaker series #4 or Jackrabbit Junction Mystery series #6. No matter which book comes out first, YOU win either way!

A new show with YOU as the guest stars called, “Ann and a Fan” (well, not all of you at once, but you’ll see what I mean when we give the first show a try).

Sunday, March 6, 2022 at 5pm EST/2pm PST.

Yours truly and “fan” Diane Rodes-Garland (our 1st guest star, whose arm I twisted until she gave in, LOL)
Where?
On my Ann Charles Facebook Page and my Ann Charles YouTube Channel. (It will be recorded, so if you can’t make it on Sunday, you can watch it later while you’re stuck somewhere waiting for paint to dry.)
How and Why?
I like to talk to readers at book signings and online about all sorts of stuff along with books. I like conversations to be spontaneous and genuine (aka fun). I like to listen to your stories about life and more instead of just talk AT you. So, I had the idea of trying an online show where I chat with a reader about books, movies, traveling, cats, tv series, dogs, cheese, and more.
While only one or two of you will be on camera “live” with me at a time, we’ll have the comments open and try to make it interactive so those of you watching are included, too.
The first show or two will be a “pilot” show(s) to see how it works and to fix any bugs. I’ll select a few for the first show or two or three, but then in the future I’ll take volunteers who want to join me live. To be a guest, all you need is a computer with a camera and mic and internet connection. If being a guest is NOT your cup of tea then no worries, just join us via comments. The key here is to just relax and chat. If a guest (or those of you watching) want to talk about my books or do “live” onscreen drama reading from them for fun, we can do that. Or we can talk about other topics. Whatever works. We all share a sense of humor. Let’s share that love of laughter and spread more smiles throughout the world.

Annual Deadwood Fan Party Weekend 2022
Mark your calendars for October 11th-14th (Tues-Fri) 2022 for the Ann Charles Fan Party this year in Deadwood, South Dakota.
Rather than try to grab hotels during the summer tourist season, this year we are having a fall party. (Since our kids are still in school and are on fall break week then, we have to have events during the week this time–sorry for any inconvenience this causes.)

Book-signings in Ohio this June 2022!
For those of you in the Northwest Ohio area and surrounding states, I’ll be paying a visit to my family in that area this June and we are setting up a book signing or two for Friday, June 3, 2022. One signing that is already scheduled is at the Defiance (Ohio) library. I’ll post more details on my website and via the next newsletter when I have times.
