News from Ann’s Brain …
Amazingly, it is November yet again. Who knew it would be here already with Christmas not far behind. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves …
On the family front …
My lovely mother-in-law is flying in soon to spend five weeks with us, so I guess it’s time to clean the baseboards and windowsills. We really need to teach our cats how to dust with their tails, the lazy, all-day sleepers.
Sam is busy working outside in the cool fall weather, prepping for winter up here in the mountains, when he’s not typing away on his keyboard, taking care of IT-related issues on the home front, and reading research books.
Our daughter is busy teaching herself how to play guitar, keyboard, and the violin while procrastinating on school work.
Our son is taking career tests and job-related field trips while his parents fill out college-preparation paperwork (ugh).
As for me, I’m daydreaming about Violet and Doc and Deadwood shenanigans while dabbling in marketing and avoiding doing bookkeeping. In other words, wonderfully normal life is happening here. I hope all is well in your corner of the woods.
I’m also sort of feeling the need to put up the Christmas tree early this year. I guess I’m ready for some of that happy holiday spirit. That reminds me–Happy Veterans Day to all of you Vets. Thank you for your service!

Slagton needs cleanin’, accordin’ to Miss Clem, and I know the crew to do it. I’m one of ’em. Hank Varney’s the name. Miss Clem and me, along with the two Sidewinders from Santa Fe—we’ll get the sharp-toothed, knife-clawed vermin done cleared out.
Now some people say I’m lucky, but I don’t know if’n it’ll do me any good, what with the army of trouble me an’ the crew are facin’. If’n we don’t live through it, well, there goes Deadwood. Maybe even the whole of the Black Hills.
We’ll all be down the privy hole, lookin’ up at the Backside of Hades.

NOTE: We have some remaining copies of the limited and numbered “Rawhide Edition” of THE BACKSIDE OF HADES that we took to Deadwood in October. The Rawhide Edition is an early version of the book that was printed PRE-beta readers and final editing, so there are errors in the book that have since been cleared up during our final processing. 100 books were printed, about twenty-five remain, so if you are a big fan of Clem, Hank, and the Sidewinders, this is a gem for your collection.

You don’t have to wait until Saturday or Sunday during the time of the signing. I will keep track of all orders and have them ready in time for the book signing on Saturday and Sunday. REMEMBER TO LET ME KNOW WHICH DAY YOU WILL BE ATTENDING WHEN YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER.
2.) When placing your order, leave me instructions in the NOTES section detailing what you’d like me to write in the book you purchased (besides just signing my name).
3.) Then, while you’re watching the online signing, I’ll autograph your book and chat with you (via the comments).
Bada-bing, bada-boom. It’s sort of like being at a real book signing without having to get all dressed up and leave your home.

Sam and I are digging into Book 5, HIP DEEP IN BAD COMPANY and hope to have this next book out in 2023.
Dig Site Series …
I am trying to get the 3rd Dig Site book into my schedule for late Fall 2023 (have to fit Deadwood Mystery Series #13 in first). I’m looking forward to heading back down to Mexico to see what’s happening in the jungle!
Jackrabbit Junction Series …
There will be more from the wild and wily Morgan sisters (Book 7), but I have a couple of other books to write first. Stay tuned!
