NEWSLETTERS November Shenanigans
It’s time for all of the good stuff November brings like pumpkin-everything and pre-Santa fun. Here at our house, Sam Lucky and I are working our buns off finishing the second book in the Deadwood Undertaker series while our kids are counting the days until their time off from school during the Thanksgiving holiday. The cats, meanwhile, are eating like pigs and taking turns sleeping on our keyboards, which I think is part of their protest plans to acquire even more food–preferably raw meat and milk instead of water.
I hope life is treating you well in your neck of the woods and not smacking you with a flyswatter when you’re not looking.
I’ve started doing some interviews on various podcast and radio stations this month over in the UK, and I plan to keep spreading further in the future to more US and non-US venues, so stay tuned and shout at me if you hear me coming through your speakers. Well, maybe only shout nice things because swearing might get you in trouble in the wrong place at the wrong time, and if you end up in the hoosegow I don’t want to be hauled in with you.

Traveling with Ann 2020 Calendar Contest
It’s time to vote for your favorite photo for my 2020 Traveling with Ann calendar.

Chose ONE picture as your favorite in the comments section (type the picture number … you can click on the picture to see a larger version of it). Votes will be tallied on November 22, 2019. I’ll share which winning photos had the most votes the following week.

SW Florida for 2019 Christmas
Happy news! My family is heading back to SW Florida this year for a week over Christmas break, so I’ll be giving a talk and selling/signing my books while I’m in the Sunshine State.

Time: 10am to 12pm.
I’ll start with a talk titled, “10 Common Questions for Fiction Writers,” then take questions, and end with signing books.

Deadwood 2020 Fan Party Weekend News
Dates: June 25th-28th, 2020 (Thursday through Sunday)
Location: Deadwood (and Lead), South Dakota
Yabba dabba do! We’re busy planning behind the scenes for the 2020 Deadwood Fan Party weekend and it’s going to be lots of fun. With the help of several awesome locals we are working on lining up some new events for those of you who can make it to Deadwood next summer.
Here’s a taste of a few events in the works:
* Book signing Chubby Chipmunk Hand-Dipped Chocolates (free chocolate boot if you buy a book).
* Book signing/Wine tasting at Miners & Merchants Trading Post (in Lead).
* Open-window bus tour via Boot Hill Tours of sights listed in Ann Charles’ books (narrated in part by Ann).
* Fan Party at the Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center, guest-starring the crew from Black Hills Paranormal Investigations.
* Paranormal Investigation in the dark at the Adams House with Black Hills Paranormal Investigations and Ann. (To purchase tickets, see below.)
* Haunted History walking tour of Deadwood with local resident historian, Kim Ferrel-Keehn, as your tour guide. Kim’s Facebook Site.
Adams House Paranormal Investigation:
If you’d like to join Black Hills Paranormal Investigations and Ann on a investigation of the historic Adams House, you must be able to go up and down stairs as well as stand for the duration of the tour. Also, no liquor is allowed on the premises; no drunk or disorderly conduct are allowed either as this is a 100+ year old museum house

Date: Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 10 p.m. (be there 15 min. early)
Tickets cost $30 each (ONLY 30 TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR THIS EVENT). All proceeds go to the Deadwood History, Inc.

Hotel Discount at the Holiday Inn Express in Deadwood
Even though the fan party will not be at the Holiday Inn Express in Deadwood this year, the hotel was still kind enough to give us a block of rooms at a discount during that weekend. If you’d like to book a room there for the long fan party weekend, give them a call and tell them that you are part of the Ann Charles Fan Party and they will give you the discount.
