October News from Ann’s Brain–and a NEW AUDIOBOOK!
We’re busy here lately prepping for the 10th Annual Deadwood Fan Party. Decorations, food, books, promotional goodies, prizes, and more! Cross your fingers Mother Nature doesn’t decide to coat us with a layer of snow while we’re there.
On the family front, my daughter recently passed the test to get her driver’s permit and we’re now having all new adventures on the road. My son has an early college-prep class every day (he’s a senior this year), so we’re all getting up extra early each day to get started–ugh. Five o’clock hurts on Monday mornings. Our four cats are all getting along wonderfully, which makes me wonder if they are working together to plan some sort of hostile takeover of the house.
Sam and I have been busting our humps to wrap up Book 4 in the Deadwood Undertaker series. The manuscript is currently with the beta team as I type. Yay! As soon as we return from Deadwood, we’ll begin brainstorming the next book in that series, and I’ll be getting to work on Deadwood Mystery series Book 13. It’s going to be a busy fall!
Arizona is cooling off finally, but we’re still enjoying some late monsoon storms that are keeping our weeds, as well as our mosquito populationgrowing strong. The spiders are out in abundance, including plenty of Black Widows, in time for Halloween. Gulp!

Love your Deadwood & Deadwood Undertaker series. I can hardly wait to read the next installments. How about a Deadwood short following up on the Zoe & Reed backstory? Just a thought.
