Ok February, Let’s do this!

This old dog has to learn some new tricks … darn it!

Oh boy, good ol’ February is over halfway done. Sheesh. Have I been writing? Yes. Have I been writing as much as I’d planned at the beginning of the month? (Ann snorts, then guffaws, and then groans and shakes her head.)

There is a good reason behind not getting as much written as I’d hoped: this old dog has to put a lot of energy into learning how to create and run ads on various digital platforms in 2025 (which is sort of a yearly goal, but not, because my right brain didn’t want to make any goals this year… unfortunately, my left brain made some anyway). Below is an example of an ad that’s now out there trying to entice some new readers. Click the red button to see it for yourself on YouTube. **NOTE: If you see any of Sam or my ads in your social media wanderings, please help us out by clicking the Like/Love option and/or leaving a kind comment to encourage other readers to try our books.**

Anyway …

February is my kids’ birthday month. We celebrated 18 and 20 years of age this year. I love having “adult” children! I love listening to their daydreams about their futures, hearing their analysis of movies and books from their “older” point-of-view, and finding out what they have learned in classes like Economics and Sociology.

Onto my newest obsession—watching “Life by Living,” which is a YouTube channel/show recorded by an English couple who bought a little old farmstead in Portugal and are sharing their journey as they work the land and renovate the stone buildings on their property into liveable spaces. It’s wonderfully uplifting to watch them build and learn along the way (they also rescue an adorable stray dog and she is soooo happy with them now). It’s also great because I can sit on my couch and eat pretzels while they work their buns off and I don’t end up with sore muscles. I’m also keeping up on a horse rescue charity group called Colby’s Crew Rescue on Facebook where they buy older horses at an auction prior to the animals going to slaughter and they give them the opportunity to live out their last years in happiness and big green pastures.

Onto this month’s lowdown …

Online Booksigning

I’ve decided on a date and time for my online booksigning this month: Sunday, February 23rd at 4pm Eastern/1pm Pacific.

An online book signing goes like this: You watch me through the screen on your computer on YouTube and/or Facebook while I answer questions coming in through the comments. NOTE: There will be no dancing by me during the signing, nor any juggling of cats or books, but there will be me trying not to spill my drink on my keyboard while talking to you and signing books.

I will be autographing books to those who have purchased them through my online store during the week PRIOR to the signing.

If you want to purchase a book to be signed during the booksigning: You can place your order through my Ann Charles online store at any time between now and the booksigning. Be sure to let me know in the “notes” section during your order (or email me after you order) if you want me to write something specific inside the book. For example, I can sign to you or someone else, I can write a certain message, or I can just autograph my name on the title page. Does that make sense? If not, send me an email and I’ll clarify.

The details are as follows:

WHEN: Sunday, February 23rd 4pm Eastern/1pm Pacific

Wrap Up

And on the writing front …

I’m sweating and swatting at trouble deep in the Mexican jungle now in Dig Site Mystery #3 (the working title at this time: Chewed Up by the Jungle). As I get closer to the middle of the book, I’ll be setting up a pre-order button for this puppy, so stay tuned to future newsletters, social media, and my website for more of the Dig Site crew and all of their jungle mayhem

Sam is still working on the 6th book in the Deadwood Undertaker series along with making great videos and images for digital ads. We’ll set up a pre-order button for that as we get closer to the finish line.

Back to work for me. I hope your February doesn’t feel like it lasts three LONGGGG years as my January did.

Happy February!
Ann
